Buying a home for the first time can seem stressful and complicated, but it doesn't have to be! Here is a short guide of the home owning process to help you reach that finish line.

HOME BUYER STEPS AND TIPS:

1. Start Saving up Money $$

-You need to make sure you have enough money to cover costs for an earnest money deposit, a down payment, new furniture and any desired upgrades, and for when you move. These types of costs can add up quickly, so make sure you create a budget and stick to it.

2. Find a Realtor

Working with a realtor will make the home buying process easier and smoother. Here's just a tip of the iceberg on what we do:

  • First and foremost, a realtor has the capabilities to search for a home that checks your boxes. Life can be so busy, why put yourself through the stress of searching, when your realtor can investigate the ins and outs of a property, and then effectively communicate to you the pros and cons in a way you will understand.

  • A realtor will also help you develop an effective plan, deal with legal matters, go over mortgage options, and so much more. A realtor will reduce the stressfulness of doing all the research on your own. We are licensed professionals here to help you!

3. Put an Offer on a House

-Once your realtor helps you find a house that you LOVE, it'll soon be time to make an offer on it. Make sure it fits within your budget and then determine a good price to offer. Your realtor can help you if you need advice in this area. You may have to go through some negotiation, but once you and the seller agree on a price, you can enter a contract. Make sure you consult with you realtor to discuss terms and conditions!

4. Paying for the House

-Congrats! The final step before making the house your own! Even though this may seem like a large investment, home owning pays off in the long run.

  • Just by owning a home, you can gain access to tax benefits. Interest on your mortgage and loans can be deducted from taxes, saving you money $$.

  • The value of the home is also likely to increase, so when you're ready to sell it in the future, you will be likely to sell it for more than what you paid for initially!

  • If you bought a home in a neighborhood, you could become a part of your community. Many neighborhood communities hold social and family events. What a great way to increase your social life, meet new people, and have enjoyable experiences!

  • No more landlords and strict requirements! Paint the walls, plant a garden, express yourself! With a home, you can make it your own!

Buying a home is a huge milestone and a great accomplishment. Make this process less stressful as possible by finding a great realtor to help you along the way and accomplish every one of your goals!
